Mischief - A Capsule Collection
Project Title: Mischief - A Lady Gaga Inspired Capsule Collection
Project Description: When Mayhem (A Lady Gaga album that dropped in early 2025) hit my music player, I was immediately hooked. Every song is a story, and I have the album on repeat.
For this capsule collection, I took inspiration from the “Abracadabra” music video, with its high contrast red, black, and dingy white color palette, it’s rife with visual interest.
Each song of the album will have some sort of connection to the capsule collection.

I chose to make an upcycled materials project for this piece, taking scraps of fabric and turning them into strips of fabric and then weaving them to create a tabard-style tank top.
I wanted to add a “Red Cross” across the heart, so two strips of red were added in the warp and the weft of the garment. The weave structure is a 2X2 twill in order to give the garment better drape, rather than a 1X1 or 2X2 plain weave.
Since I used an on-grain tape to weave this, the fringe had an open edge, I whip-stitched along the edge of each piece and finished the ends off in a point.
The selvedge edges of each side have built in loops, perfect for the bias tape lacing that runs up the sides, keeping the vest closed, but also allowing for various sizing opportunities.
