This coat was hand sewn with handwoven fabric made from upcycled/deadstock fabric strips. Designed and made for an article in the Winter 2027 issue of WEFT magazine, this one of a kind piece highlights various materials that were diverted away from the landfill and given new life.
The woven structure is a slub cotton with strips of fabric of various fiber types ranging from cotton to silk, to poly blends and perhaps even a bit of wool. Denim jean material makes up most of the jacket material.
This coat is reversible with accessible pockets from each side. The coat is meant to be belted or worn open, and does not feature in closures.
Sizing: Fits a bust size of 36-40 comfortably - due to the volume of the fabric, it looks like an oversized fit.
